A Nottingham man has pleaded not guilty to stealing a dog in Abergavenny last year.

Thomas Stokes, aged 46, of Chesterfield Road North, Nottingham, appeared at Newport Crown Court today via video link from HMP Cardiff charged with the theft of a black pug dog from Elizabeth Swain on October 26, 2015.

He was remanded in custody ahead of a trial on March 16.
