An Abergavenny millionaire property developer strangled a young mother to death, a court heard.
Wealthy Peter Morgan is accused of murdering 25-year-old Georgina Symonds in January of this year.
The 54-year-old married father of two had been in a relationship with the mother of one for around three years, heard Newport Crown Court.
Prosecutor William Hughes QC said, “The murder of Georgina Symonds was pre-meditated and well planned by Peter Morgan.
“After killing Georgina, he went to great lengths to move her and conceal her body and cover his own tracks for some time after the killing itself.
“Peter Morgan was a very successful and wealthy businessman with a large property portfolio.
“He made his money through farming before moving into property development and by his own words was a millionaire many times over.”
Members of the jury heard that Ms Symonds, a beautician, was being paid between £7,000 and £10,000 per month by the accused to work as his personal escort.
Morgan, of Llanellen, near Abergavenny, denies murder.
The case, which is expected to last three weeks, continues.
