An Abergavenny man has admitted shooting with an air pistol another man during an incident earlier this week.

Adam Wilkins, 31, has been charged with ABH and remains in police custody.

Armed police and a police helicopter scrambled to the Dan-y-Deri on Tuesday evening.

A 26-year-old man suffered minor injuries to his leg, before being taken to hospital, and later discharged.

A Gwent Police spokeswoman said, “This was an isolated incident and at no point were the public in any danger."
