A COUPLE fleeing the noise and congestion of big city life were in Abergavenny this week as filming took place for BBC show, ‘Escape to the Country.’
Created by Talkback Thames, the house-hunting reality television show takes the prospective buyers around to different houses in rural locations.
The desire for more room, cleaner air and less noise drives city dwellers featured in this series to seek an escape to the country, where they view properties and, by each episode’s end, decide which is the perfect getaway for them.
Julie and Scott from Surrey found themselves in Abergavenny’s Borough Theatre as part of filming for the forthcoming series. The couple, seeking relocation to a rural retreat, were given a lesson in clog dancing by West Wales expert, Tudur Phillips as part of their ‘Welsh acclimatisation.’
The show first aired in 2002 and presenters include Alistair Appleton, Nicki Chapman, ?Jules Hudson and Margherita Taylor.
