A blazing car was tackled at Abergavenny’s McDonald’s drive-through by fire crews, yesterday.

The fast-food eatery in Llanfoist was closed whilst firefighters from the local station put out the flames which engulfed a saloon as it waited at the drive-through.

A South Wales Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said crews dealt with the blaze, and that the restaurant reopened later that day.

PC Adam Hollings, ward manager at Abergavenny Police Station, attended the incident.
