Fire crews from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service are tackling a grass fire on the slopes of the Deri mountain which broke out late this afternoon

Dozens of people have gathered on fields close to Deri View School to watch the fire as it makes its way across the mountainside aided by strong gusts of wind.

Heavy bursts of rain seem to have done little to stanch the flames of the first grass fire of the season.
