Abergavenny track athlete and footballer Gavin Ewers, 31, is making his bid for TV fame and fortune at the Welsh auditions for Britain's Got Talent this Sunday (November 18).
Gareth is hoping to go one better than at The X Factor auditions, where he reached the last fifty and was told he had 'a natural singing voice'.
His audition piece is The Beatles' 'Hey Jude'.
Gavin, who is a former King Henry VIII pupil, has been East Wales champion four times at 800m and 1,500m and Welsh champion twice at 1,500m.
An Abergavenny Thursdays player, he says was 'scouted' by Manchester United at the age of 19.
"I've loved singing since I was a small kid and would like to make a career of it," said Gavin, who is currently a sales rep with a conservatories company.
"Taking part in the auditions at Cardiff Millennium Centre will be a really interesting experience."
