Air accident experts are investigating the crash-landing of a light plane on the A40 Raglan to Abergavenny dual carriageway on Saturday afternoon.
Three people - the pilot and two passengers - sustained minor injuries when the four-seater Piper Warrior II aircraft came down at around 3.30pm. No other vehicles were involved.
The dual carriageway was closed for several hours and diversions put in place before the plane was transferred to a lorry to be transported to the Air Accident Investigation Branch headquarters in Hampshire, where it will undergo a detailed crash examination.
Fire crews from Abergavenny, Brynmawr, Ebbw Vale and Usk attended the incident.
A spokeswoman for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said they had to make a fuel spillage safe and remained at the scene to ensure the safe removal of the aircraft.
