A local firefighter stood down for the last time over the weekend, after 30 years service.
On Saturday at noon, Dave Skinner, 64, called time on three decades with the local Abergavenny crew, following his final shift.
Mr Skinner was the oldest serving firefighter across the entire South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
His colleagues said Mr Skinner’s last shift marked a ‘sad day’ and wished him well for the future.
As a mark of respect, the crew at Abergavenny held a guard of honour as Mr Skinner’s final shift drew to a close.
