The Mayor of Abergavenny, Councillor Maureen Powell has completed a swim to raise money for her charities, Wales Air Ambulance and the Velindre Cancer Care.

She swam 50 lengths of the 25 metre pool in 38 minutes - not bad for a 78 year old who suffers from Spinal Stenosis.

She says " I am a bit like a swan, ungainly on land, but far better in water"

There were three people who guessed the correct time and she will be giving them their prizes in the near future.
