The otter that was saved from a riverbank in Abergavenny earlier this month has sadly died. 

After being transported to the UK Wild Otter Trust rehabilitation centre in North Devon she was found to have severe jaundice, arthritis and severe sepsis and the only option was to euthanise. 

Usk was initially thought to have been a young male otter but specialists at the rehabilitation centre discovered she was actually a much older female otter.
