With assistance from Gwent Police officers, South Wales Police have arrested six people in connection with the theft of thousands of pounds from a cashpoint machine in Fox Street, Treharris today.
The incident saw police teams and a helicopter descend on a field in Llanellen, earlier this morning.
Five men and one woman who are all from the Gwent area are currently in police custody being questioned in connection with the offence.
Officers investigating the theft are appealing to the public for information about the incident which occurred at 00:30am today (Tuesday, 14 May).
They would like to speak to anybody who may have seen what happened or who noticed anything suspicious to contact them via 101 quoting reference 172101 or alternatively they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
