Radio 2’s allotment specialist Terry Walton will be the speaker at the next meeting of the Llanthony and District Garden Club at Cwmyoy.

Terry, well-known for his regular slot on The Jeremy Vine Show, will be talking about growing your own vegetables and the world of celebrity gardening.

It will be an interactive evening with plenty of time for questions - and guests will be welcome (£5 admission).

Terry, from the Rhondda, has been gardening since he was four and had his own allotment at eleven, selling enough produce to buy his own car at seventeen.

Trained as an engineer, he spent 37 years in industry, finally as MD of a company making scientific instruments.

He then gave it up for his first love, growing, and was snapped up by broadcasting.

His talk at Cwmyoy Memorial Hall on Monday March 14 starts at 8pm.
