On Friday evening, four young Abergavenny Hockey Club players travelled to the National Hockey Centre in Cardiff to take care of the ball patrol for the evening.
Invited by Hockey Wales, this was a special occasion for the boys who were able to watch a fantastic Wales victory over France with the Welsh Men completing a 2-0 series win.
Abergavenny Hockey Club juniors; Harry Williams, Max Clements, Rowan Harris and Edward Jackson all carried the flag for Wales and then after the lightning paced game they were met by both the French and Welsh players for selfies and an autograph signing session.
Hockey is a fast, fun, inclusive game with opportunities for everyone to get involved, why not have a go? For the next five weeks, free senior hockey sessions are on offer every Thursday evening at Abergavenny Leisure Centre from 8pm until 9pm. This is a turn up and play event for senior players, no experience of playing hockey is necessary, just bring your trainers and the club can loan you a stick on the evening.
There are also lots of opportunities for children to get involved, first training sessions are always free for new members and there are qualified coaches available to get you started. All levels of ability welcome.
