ABERGAVENNY Petanque club have been working with Monmouthshire Sports development team to achieve their insport club Ribbon accreditation. 'Insport' is a four tiered identification and accreditation system that is set by Disability Sport Wales and the Ribbon standard is the first step. This programme supports local authorities, national governing bodies of sport, along with clubs and organisations, to provide inclusive, quality sessions to disabled people within their own communities. The club have successfully completed this process and have been delivering a number of inclusive sessions in primary, secondary schools and within the community. Recently they have been delivering sessions with local community group building bridges who regularly bring groups of young people down to have a game.   Pictured is Laura James from Monmouthshire Sport Development Team presenting a certificate to Clive Howells (President of Petanque Club).
