Gwent Police have welcomed 33 new officers to their ranks following a pass out parade in Newport on Thursday March 24.
The group is made up of the latest student officers to enter through the policing educational qualifications framework (PEQF).
The PEQF gives applicants the chance to study for an academic qualification, supported by the University of Wales Trinity St David, while undertaking their police training.
Chief Constable Pam Kelly said: “At Gwent Police, we’re driven to providing protection and reassurance to the public.
‘‘These new officers, who bring with them a variety of skills, will work with us to deliver the best possible service to our communities.
“Policing is all about public service and duty, and these new officers will play an integral part in keeping residents across Gwent safe. I wish them all the best in their careers and ongoing studies.”
Police and Crime Commissioner Jeff Cuthbert said: “The new recruits have worked incredibly hard during their training and the commitment and dedication they have shown must be commended.
“I am proud that today in Gwent we are in a much better position than when I was first elected in 2016, with more than 300 extra police officers now serving our communities.
“These new officers will be a welcome addition to police teams across Gwent and I wish them all the best in their new careers.”
The force’s 33 new police officers join the ten Police Community Support Officers (PCSO) who attended their pass out parade earlier this month.
Gwent Police are currently looking for new police constables to join their policing teams in Gwent. For more information on how to join please visit their website or social media pages.
