Abergavenny Petanque Club enjoyed their best ever season ever in the Big League and Cup.

This is the 18th season of the Petanque Big League which has four divisions and 41 teams.

A strong performance by the Abergavenny Clarets with a opening run of 10 games without defeat saw them become Division One Champions - the first time the club has achieved this accolade.

They were also the Cup winners but were demoted to the runner up spot on a technicality, but nevertheless it was a superb season for the Clarets.

In Division Two, the Abergavenny Reds were relegated and will play their petanque in Division Three next season, but although disappointed they should remain encouraged that two of their wins were against the two promoted sides, the Wheatsheaf Eagles and Ponthir.

The club had no team in Division Three this season but in Division Four the Abergavenny Blues were Champions and won promotion to Division Three.

Also in this very competitive division were Abergavenny Golds who finished fourth Club Competitions.
