ADDIE Francis was crowned the youngest winner of the Monmouthshire County Ladies Three Day Golf Championships after winning the final on the 16th hole.

Addie who is a member of both Monmouthshire and Newport Golf Club also helped Newport pick up the team event prize.

Addie would like to thank Irene and Don Dodd of the Monmouthshire, Judith Wayman from Newport Golf Club, and Monmouthshire Junior Organiser Janet Cavacutti.

Addie explained that coaches Neil Matthews and Paul Williams from Golf Union Wales have been instrumental in her development over the past 12 months.

She added the the support she has received from Christ College Brecon, who take Addie to Cradoc Golf Club three times a week to practice during games sessions, has been invaluable.

Addie has been selected for the British Junior Golf tour of America this July for girls aged 11-12. She will compete at Torres Pines California and is looking for some support with travel costs.
