GOLF wonder kid Adelaide Francis has just enjoyed one of her most successful seasons on the golf course which has seen her drop her handicap by 12 shots.
Adelaide is coached by Neil Matthews and Gareth Williams of Golf Union Wales. She has been
receiving additional coaching from Monmouthshire’s Brian Edwards for the past 10 months, who has been instrumental in her development.
Addie’s current handicap is 11.5, although her last three competitions played to an handicap of eight. She currently plays for Newport ladies and Brecon ladies whom have been very supportive of the youngster.
Addie usually spends every summer in America with the British Junior Golf Tour, but in 2018 her parents made the decision for Addie to remain in Britain and concentrate on reducing her handicap.
She did this by playing in and winning numerous competitions, such as the ladies bronze county championship, the county ladies silver savers championship and the Brecon ladies match play cup championship.
Adelaide has been named in the 2018/19 Wales Academy Squad of six players and has a busy 12 months ahead with golfing trips to Malaysia, Germany, France, Belgium, Portugal, and Turkey.
